Cast Awakening - Game repeatedly crashes in same place

Hi,
I'm having a problem with Cast Awakening constantly crashing in the same place. The location is in the Mines, following the bonca trail. You go up from the desk and then across top the top right hand corner with the 2 or 3 boncas. Then you go down two screens. In the area with the three boncas and all the rocks, a few seconds after entering that screen the game just blinks out, disappears and returns me to the desktop. I've tried reinstalling Cast several times but nothing seems to work. I'm running Win2k.
Can anyone help me with this?

Bleh 
The game has always had some difficulty in the Mines area... crashing problems were frequent. I fixed most of them, and the rest seem to only happen for some users.
My best recommendation would be to go a different route. I believe there are 2 or 3 total ways to get out of the mines... if you can't think of anything, check out the walkthrough.
