I need help. If anyone of you know anything about computers that would be awesome. I have tried everything short of formating my hardrive and I still haven't solved my problem. I'm running Windows M.E. (Can't afford upgrade.) The problem is whenever I try to do anything on the control panel such as change background, screensaver, screen resolution, passwords, printers, dial-up network, p2p, and things along the such it says that it can't access the drives because I may not have permission. I say, "The hell I don't!" I am the only one that ever looks at my computer, let alone mess with it. So no one could have physically done anything to it. The only thing I could think of is some anus hacked in and changed things. I doubt that very seriosly though. It isn't spyware or trojans either. If anyone can help please do so. I would really like this to stop.

This may be a long shot, but make sure your network settings( start/steeings/control panel...) are set to windows logon, not family logon.

Is your drive formatted to NTFS instead of FAT32? If it is, then the permissions could've gotten changed so you can't access anything.
