Chat: We're changing servers. Again.
Those of you who chat, know what the problem is. Those of you who have been with me through the last few years REALLY know what the problem is. Every chat network that we begin using, ends up malfunctioning after a few months of use. It's like we're cursed. But why let that stop us? We can just move on until we've ruined yet a network, by which we're ready to move again.

In all seriousness: We've moved to Freenode now, after a tip from Merlin. He claims that this network is very stable, so should this network also fail us, I suggest you blame him, and not me.
To connect to Freenode, you just switch wherever you entered "irc.spidernet.org" and replace it with "irc.freenode.net". You don't have to change ports.
Starting today, I deem the irc.spidernet.org network unofficial, and irc.freenode.net for the new, official newtork. This means that chats announced on the board should now be held on Freenode and not on Spidernet.
I'm also sorry that I had to put this news item on top of the last one, but there's nothing I can do to put it below. (which would also risk it not being read by anyone)

What if you can't find where you entered "irc.spidernet.org"?
Seriously.
Seriously.
go to tools- options- servers and type the new server name where it says IRC Server:
If you're using mIRC
If you're using mIRC
This crashing of servers is so weird. I mean...it cant be a coincidence.
Regardless I hope this new chat works. If not well just move from room to room like parasites destroying whatever we find.
I hope everyone who wants to chat today reads this!
Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Tools doesn't have an options "option" on it's bar. Ho hum...
than you're using an older version of Mirc...
in order to get to options, press Alt+O it will pop up the options. Select the "servers" tag on the left hand side of the pop up screen. there will be two little boxes, the lower of the two boxes will say "IRC server" scroll down in that box and find "Freenode: Random Server". Once you have done that, connect with the little lightning bolt. typing /join #dinksmallwood should get you to the room.
god help us if you can't get there now.
