well, it's that time of the year again, where i take my 6 month vacation from dink in attempt to come to wit with other aspects of my life. i personally feel that the board will be unchanged without me being here, but i will drop in every now and then until i find the time to settle back in again. i'll also be on the dev team for windemere within the next few months, since it looks like it's going to be at least that long before the project is picked back up on again. so, with that, toodaloo

Does Dink really play that much of a factor in people's lives? I figure the average D-Mod takes about half an hour to an hour to finish, and D-Mods are somewhat infrequent nowadays... not only that, but keeping tabs on the community daily doesn't even take half an hour if you skip the crap.

I'm not trying to imply that you're 'stupid' or 'wrong' for taking such a lengthy leave, but I don't see how Dink plays that much significance.

I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to.I guess.
Well, let's see. I have 24 hours in a day, and I spend 6 of those sleeping. So that gives me 18 hours a day to use. Times that by seven, you get 126 avaliable hours in a week. Now, since most people here have jobs or school, you can automatically cut off another 40 hours, leaving 86. Taking away another 14 hours a week for traveling, gives us 72. Now I doubt many people check up on Dink before they work, lest they risk being late. So let's the average person wakes up about 1.5 hours before going to work school whatever. 1.5 * 5 =7.5, from 72 that gives us 64.5. Now we take away 1/2 hour for lunch and 1 hour for supper/Tv, so we take 1.5 * 7 = 10.5 from 64.5, and get 54. Great! But most people want a social life, right? Otherwise life gets pretty, dull, and, well, as much as I like Dink, ya can't really mix the two all so well. There are exceptions, but I disgress. So let's say we have a movie a week, 3h + .5 hour travel/get ready shoot. That leaves 50.5 Take away another hour a day just for being with the friends, whatever. That gives us 43.5h Not bad, plenty of time, right? But now we have to divide by seven, to see the Per day free time. Lesee.. that's, ah, 6H and 13min a day. Well, we can say you spend that 13 min brushing, shootting, whatever. 6 hours a day. Lots of time, right? Wrong. Remember, I started with 6h of sleep a night. Now how many of you can survive, over time, on 6h a night? Yes, it does get brutal. So let's change that to a more reasonable 8, leaving us 4h a day. Now, I may be mistaken, but a heluva lot of Dinker's still goto school. Also, people want money. So what does that mean? You got it! Part time job! So from 4 * 7 = 28 take away about 20, if your job is shootty. That leaves 8 friggen hours a week. 1 hour and 8 minutes and 8.57 seconds a freaking day! 1 hour and 8 minutes, and throw that fricken 8.57 seconds away, times 30.5 gives us 34.6 hours a month to dink.

Now how much to we require a month do dink? Well, there's the 2 minutes a month for the poll, and thinking of a witty comment to put down, the 45min a month one might spend dinking, and the 25 min a day * 30.5 = 762 or 12h 43 min, for a grand total of 13h and 30 minutes dinking a month. Or, for conviences sake, 810 min a month, out of a possible 2076 min a month of free, spare time. So thats, er, ah, where's my dang fraction button, oh frick it, 39% of ones free time! Thats, over 1 third! So yes, it does take a lot of time.

Ah, pointless arguing is fun.

No point in leaving , or "temporarily" leaving. Everybody comes back to the DN eventually, what with it being the centre of the Universe and all.

I'm sorry, of course the english spellings for the english language cannot be correct.

And you know, most words don't change case half way through...

Now wait just a second. I can understand the school part, but who works a full time job and a part time job? Certainly not very many people - I believe you can exclude them.
