Fight Club
We went to Fargo this Sunday for his birthday (it was actually was on the 11th, and mine was on the 2nd). Anyway, he gave me a gift card to Best Buy (we don't have one in the Bismarck-Mandan area, despite having a decent base of over 70,000 people) and I saw the Fight Club special edition dvd thingy. I simply had to buy it (it was only $20). Well, that's kind of the end of that story.
Anyway, why do you guys like "Fight Club" so much? I'm guessing that the majority of you were born after 1980, so you would be Generation Y and not X, which this movie so specifically targets. You should hear Ed Norton talk about this movie.

its good because of the philosophy of it. my favorite part is when the guy is like, i come home to this piece of crap house to hear this guy screwing this girl and it doesnt bother me anymore. thats zen.
this movie messes with your head, and makes you think about reality and society. a good movie is one that has you thinking about it when youre trying to sleep at night, and you just sit there for an hour doing nothing after the movie is over, just thinking what the hell is this all about. and you have to analyze it one layer at a time.

You got it right there josh. I always say to my friends that Fight Club is great philosophy for people that hate greeks.
I believe Josh nailed my thoughts on the head. Though it is certainly fulfilling as far as an action movie goes, the real beauty of the movie is uncovered when you delve into the philosophical and psychological aspects of it, and with each viewing of it (three so far) another idea presents itself to me. Hell, there may even be an anti-violence perspective to it, from what little my slow comprehension/perception can tell. If nothing else, the Fight Club video is the second best dang thing I got out of my relationship with Alli (short of the love I had). I think she wants it back though. Um. Hm.
For me personally, the funniest thing in the movie is when they argue about who gets to go to the support groups. It is then when you truly learn how pathetic these people's lives are.
oh yeh and they fight over who gets the prostate cancer, that was great. also i forgot about this part but i think its accually my favorite: when he beats the crap out of himself and is like "no boss dont hit me" and his boss is like all freaked out
It has some good messages in it, but the best part of it is the humor, I think. Anyway, you guys have all submitted to the subliminal messages of communism if you agree with the philosophical views of it. Lower and middle class bourgeois rising up against the high class to form a class less society in which even the names are eliminated? Communists, all of you!

You guys disgust me 1 Brad Pitt is a looser 2 theres nothing sexy about a 38 year old heartthrob who shaves his head 3 If anymore people comment on this post I'll start a club by beating the shiznit outa my scitsofrenic self
Hey Benji, Brad Pitt isn't 38, he's 39 you stupid idiot! Some people just can't get ages right.
