labels and such
its pretty sad that posts get closed when people have something to say, i think its conceited or superficial to restrict according to your own notions rather than to allow free exchange. so yeh, this is an addition to a post that was closed.
i totally agree that labels and such are stupid in many contexts. like people saying "blink-182 is not punk. they sell-out, they are posers" or whatever. thats petty. everyone has their one tastes, and their own beliefs. however, there are things that can transcend the things branding and labeling. things that hold a cause or something. its more than social status, but a social standpoint. something that can bring people together for a common goal or interest.
saying something like "if you dont have a 10 foot mohawk and listen to DESTROY, you are not punk" is stupid. however, saying "if you are racist and white supremicist, you are not skinhead" is necessary to hold true what skinheads stand for. and i hope you see the difference. its not just fashion or some bullshoot for people to conform and make money. its like saying real hippies are pro-war and torture animals as opposed to saying hippies must wear tie-died t-shirts and birkenstocks.
theres nothing wrong with rejecting any form of social sect period. but in ways, it can be a positive means of expression and such. its only when people are dumb asses that it gets distorted into being so dumb.
perhaps the metallica statement gave the wrong impression. that was in many ways satire, yet so so true.

nah, i tried to steer away from my usual derogatory homosexual term usage.
Hohoho...
Sorry about doing 2 posts, it was by accident, and I don't know if I can delete one. But Josh deserved more than 1 laugh for that.
