Just starting this game, but get killed ASAP by Bonkas downstairs. Can't get away from them fast enough. Any hints? Thank you!
Take note that you only have to fight one bonca or so to get enough gold. The rest of the gold can be obtained in some other way. Fight with one bonca at a time and avoid it while still hitting it with your sword. Do something else to get the rest of the required money.

Kill only one bonca to get enough gold? I need few hundreds while I get only few to thirty-few per bonca. I don't have a place to save the game, so if I got killed I have to start all over again, the dialogues etc. Maybe without the setting in which boncas hitting each other add themselves the hit points it would be easier, but at this point it is too difficult for a beginning of the game.
If I had a defense potion or two...

You didn't understand the hint. There's another task you can do to get nearly enough gold. At that point, you can kill one or, if you're unlucky, two boncas to make up the difference.
I agree that it's tougher than it should be for the start of the DMOD, but it's doable.

This might be the oldest thread necro I've ever seen.

To Skull: When I found this subject I had a dillema: post it under this one and risk that somebody would say that I rise the dead, or create a new topic, which in fact wouldn't be new and on the other hand could cause somebody to ask why am I creating a new one just next to the already existing one? Besides, I downloaded some of the dmods recently and as I noticed all of the topics are at least three-four years old, the last ones are from 2011. I even was worrying that nobody would respond to my post, because the Dink Network is not as active as it once was.
You're welcome, and I'm glad you liked Malachi the Jerk.
I remember this being the fist DMOD I downloaded and played from the internet.
If you have something meaningful to say about a file in a file discussion... Don't worry about being necromantic.
