Hey! I was talking to someone about how this game was what led to me becoming a programmer and randomly checked if the forum was still up. And I was so glad that the same users that posted here when I was a kid still post. So wholesome!
Well, the forums are kind of half-dead, but that has been the case for a few years. Yeah, many of the old Dinkers are still around, even if they post rarely. Kind of nice to have many of the old members active, but it also highlights that there are few new members who actually stick around.
Could be worse, I've certainly seen deader forums than this.
For dmods I'm actually quite positive about the future. I don't think Dink or old games in general are going anywhere, meaning if you make a dmod now there'll still be someone to play it many decades from now.
Not sure about forum activity. Could be it goes down more, but it's seemed pretty stable for years now, so I could also see this as the bottom. Maybe Dink Coin go up in future. :3

Agreed. We (hopefully) still have Necromancer to look forward to, and I'm very slowly working on something myself.
I've also gone and played a whole lot of DMods I never played before, so I'll second the "people will still play them" statement.

I'm probably just tooting my own horn here, but don't forget those that have joined as newcomers in the last 10+ years (such as myself -- ahem). This place is far from dead (IMHO).
Who else has joined our ranks of dmod downloaders/players and dmod uploaders/authors since 2015?

Yeah. I don't post much, but I've been checking what's going on here for at least 20 years now. Crazy.
I remember as a kid the first dmod I downloaded was Revenge of the Ducks 2 and how amazed and excited I was to play as a duck riding a bonca lol
Nice to hear you became a programmer. Dink and this community also inspired me to learn some programming basics that ended up opening some unexpected doors throughout my life. I'm very happy with where I am right now and I'm sure I wouldn't be here if I hadn't ever stumbled upon this website and all the people here.
I just wish I had contributed more and shared more of the random things I made. But anyway, maybe there's still time for that.
