Dink Smallwood HD Mobile saves compatibility
Hey guys just wanted to know on this is Dink HD android game saves compatible with the PC version? I am making some of select gameplay videos of me playing it on the phone to watch on youtube , i thought i could play and skip off the grindy parts on pc and transfer back to mobile.

I have never considered this as I don't play on mobile at all, but I don't see why they shouldn't be. The DinkHD source code is in great part the same for mobile/pc, at the very least I expect the save/load logic to be identical.
I just tested this and sadly can confirm its just partially workable.
So i extracted the save file from Dink Smallwood HD android port and copied it to the pc version and the save worked fine no issues at all, so i did a bit of grinding on pc and tried to put the save back on the mobile but google has restricted copying anything to the Android->Data folder in which dink hd is installed so no luck there . Its only possible one way mobile to pc only.

wonder if @seth could implement a cloud saving function for just the quick save, one button to upload and one button to download it back , given androids useless restrictions
Yeah, all saves should be compatible, it will flip around the bytes to keep them compatible. (I think that only applied to the powerpc mac versions)
With iOS, you can open iTunes and drag and drop files to/from Dink's user save dir. (it will detect and auto install dmods, use save files, etc)
I thought something similar was on Android, where it won't let you modify the actual Dink data, but there was a Dink specific user directory you could play with. I'd have to look at it again, things change so fast with mobile.

Thanks @seth i dont know when things changed with android but its a problem now not just dink but i cant simply access anything in android /data to copy into , they have removed the permission . We can copy out files only . But with the new poco x7 pro phone chugging along ok in the game so far have had a couple of crashes while playing the game not sure if it was the os or the game.. at long sessions in the game just simply closes off, i keep using the quick saves to avoid loss
