I'm trying to get into the cave to kill the beast like instructed by the wizard. I'm pushing the rock to the right like I'm supposted to. Everytime I push the rock it says "If only I were stronger." I've read the walk throughs etc. and found nothing matching my problem. Please help!!

You must have attack greater than 3....

I'm new to this game...so i'm not sure what your getting at. Can you give me some sort of instruction? Thanks!

In the bottom left hand part of your game screen you'll see three categories - Attack, Defense and Magic - with numerical values beside them. To push the rock your Attack value needs to have a reading of 3 or greater.

In the lower mid to right part of your game screen you'll see 2 numbers separated by a backslash. The first number represents the amount of experience you have while the second number represents how much experience you need to proceed to the next level. Experience is gained by killing enemies, such as pillbugs or boncas, while the amount of experience you get depends on the difficulty of the particular enemy. The level you are currently at is the number just to the left of the little screen that shows what weapon you're currently using. Each time you gain enough experience to proceed to the next level you will get a choice of whether to increase your Attack, Defense or Magic level. When your Attack level is at 3 you should have enough strength to push aside that bothersome rock.

Edit: I meant to say when your Attack level is greater than 3. Oops.

That makes sense! I've killed a lot of pill bugs for experience before though and nothing happened. I'll try to find a new enemy to do away with. Whats a bonca? Thanks for the help!

UPDATE! I just went and killed a whole bunch of pill bugs. I was able to gain enough experience and advanced to level 2. I have an attack of 3. I am still not able to push aside the rock to the cave! Now What?

Hmmm, are you sure you're playing Stone of Balance? It sounds to me like you're playing the original Dink Smallwood game.

Anyway, at the beginning of the game you should have started off with an Attack level of 3. When you go to see Martridge the wizard and he tells you about the quest to kill the beast in the cave, at the end of his speech he gives you a red strength potion which increases your Attack level to 4. That's the Attack value you need to be able to push the rock, not 3. My apologies - I was wrong in my previous post. I meant to say greater than 3, not 3 or greater. I'm sorry for the confusion I caused you.

Unfortunately, unless you took the red potion when Martridge gave it to you, there is no way to get it again. Therefore, you're going to have to kill some more pillbugs. Just make sure your Attack level is at 4. Good luck.

I started with attack 3.I was given the instruction by a wizard. He gave me the potion and i picked it up but i dont have an attack of 4. I remember!

Huh. I'm not sure what to tell you. I even went back into my game and started from scratch to make sure I wasn't losing my mind (which is entirely possible), and when Martridge gave me the red potion my Attack level increased to 4.

Since you do need an Attack level of 4, all I can suggest to you is to try and kill some pillbugs for experience. Maybe someone else can help?

Thanx to everyone who helped me! I was able to get another potion from the wizard in level 2. Giving me 4 attack. I dont quite understand how this happened but... Am having a hell of a time killing the beast, tryed for over an hour!

I am told by all that attack has to be atleast lvl 4 s i have lvl 4 attack but i am trying to push the rock and nothing happens.......i am lvl 1 if that makes a differenve.......

Why can't i push the rock......

Push the rock from the left side.

before you fight the bonca, fill your' inventory slots with nuts (the ones your' mummy wanted.)As soon as your health drops, eat one, run, eat another and so on. IMPORTANT! DON"T FORGET TO RE-EQUIP YOUR' FIST AFTERWARDS!

what i did as soon as i finished feeding the pigs was go to mr smilesteins house and offer to save his farm. them found the duck. then mum wants you to get alk tree nuts. you can now go out of your village. go left to mr smilesteinsfarm and kill the pillbugs there and a couple more and you will get a level up. increase your attack. then get the alk tree nuts go back to your house and watch the cutscene. after that talk to the guard go back to your house and read the letter. go to martridges house and tell him youre worthy of magic and take the potion. attack level 5. go to the rock and push it from the left side to the right and enter the cave. the you can kill the bonca and go back to martridges house get the fireball magic and gold pay the toll and go to terris. hope that helped

i suggest using the hit n' run tactic, it helps alot
