trillian IRC issues
when i trie to get to the dink chat on trillian (mIRC says i'm banned somehow) i connect, and in the join channel box i put #dinksmallwood press ok or enter and nothing
i have to repeat that atleast 5 times to get to the dink chanel

I reccommend setting up an autoconnect so that you don't need to bother with it every single time; I am fairly certain it retries for you. I'll have to look up how to do that when I get on the other computer, however, as I have Trillian Pro on this one and .74 on the other, and I'm fairly certain you have .74, and I know they don't work quite the same. So I will post directions later.

Ok, to set up an autoconnect for Trillian to perform when you start it up:
Go to the IRC button at the bottom. Select "Connection Manager". For info on how to fill out the thing so you can connect in the first place, look at the tutorial here.
Now, there's two other tabs, Identd (don't worry about that one) and Perform Buffer. Click Perform Buffer and enter the following, filling in the "yournick" and "yourpassword"s with... well, your nick and your password:
/nickserv ghost yournick yourpassword;/nick yournick;/nickserv identify yourpassword;/join #dinksmallwood
and click Connect. That will automatically ghost anybody on your nick, give you your nick, identify you to it, and have you join the channel.
Now. The previous stuff was mostly for the benefit of n00bs who didn't know it; RS, I think this step will help your problem. Once the connection is set up, go to that random button at the bottom of the Trillian interface (you know the one... the random one) and click "Preferences." Go to "IRC" and check the "connect on startup" box. You can set the number of attempts at connecting and such if you feel the need...
Why do I think all this will fix your problem? Well, I had the same one for a long time, and autoconnect seemed to solve my difficulties with the Trillian IRC client. So let me know how (if) it works out for you.

oyh and i found out that if you type the chanel name very slowly and press the "OK" button very hard and slow it connects at the first time! but thanks alli,me dumb me can't find random buttin
Just so you know, It takes a little while to connect to IRC....
The random one.
Um, it's at the bottom of the interface, next to the "AIM" thing. Looks like a picture of the earth in the normal skin for Trillian.

uhh in my skin-there's nothing on the bottom, and the buttons are on top and next to AIM is ICQ

Find the general preferences panel, then. Or tell me what skin you're using... whichever is easier.

is there robots? is there a space ship? does it have snakes in it?
Eh, well, should you ever find your "preferences" menu, follow the aforementioned procedures to set up an autoconnect.
