The Dink Network

I can't find the ore for Milder to make a sword. I went into the cave in the dried up riverbed. I found the secret room to the right of the save game but there is just a giant heart and a chest with gold in it, no potions and no ore and I don't find any other secret passages in this cave. What am I doing wrong? I'm playing the game on my iPad.
