Well I am getting ready for the nuclear apocalypse that is going to happen in our life time. Since the other forum that i am a member of is shut down for updates I am going to talk about it here.

Need to know if there if there are some things I need to add to my list of items I need to stash.

Compass (got it)
Buck knife (got it)
Gas mask with oxegyn containers (got it)
Enviro suit (have my eye on one)
Geiger counter ( have my eye on one)
Compound bow with arrows (got it)
Matches (got it)
Big spool of nylon (got it)
Rock hammer (got it)
Heavy winter clothing (got it)
Machete (have my eye on one)
20 gauge shotgun (got it)
50 cal. Black powder rifle (got it)
3o8 rifle (got it)
Ammunition (got it)
Bomb shelter (working on it)
Canned goods and bottled water (got it, and growing)
First aid kit ( have 3)
Boots(got it)
Books ( exactly 5,090 in count)
Extra pairs of underwear. ( got it)
Multi tool(got it)
I am certain I am missing stuff that i need.

I don't really care to survive the apocalypse. Sounds like a lot of work. Much easier and less painful to just let the apocalypse kill you.

Freeze dried everything, water purifiers, several filters for such, and given that I hate your ducking guts right now, I suggest you get used to having no internet by not getting online anymore because you won't have internet if it does indeed happen.

Didn't have to pay for the winter gear. Got it as a gift from my cousin . Most of this stuff I have slowly and patiently collected over the years. Plus I get most of this stuff at gun shows, and i am very good at bargaining.

While I think any kind of apocalypse is unlikely to happen, it's not a bad idea to be at least a little bit prepared. The whole world doesn't have to end for stores of food and water to come in handy.

A bug-out bag is a good idea in my opinion, so that you can just leave your house and live anywhere in relative comfort for a few days. This because there's no guarantee wherever you plan to hunker down is actually going to be a smart place to be; a lot depends on what happens and where.

I dont get why so many people started talking about the apocalypse all of a sudden? Can someone fill me in?

You maybe right. There may never be an apocalypse but I know that there will be a great a final war soon. So it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
Last night I went outside and went to a grassy hill near our house. I laid down on my back and gazed up at the stars. I beheld one of the universes wonders, the shooting star. 2 of them, falling in the same path. I hadn't seen a shooting star in 5 years so I named them Thor and Sif. It felt good. I then thought, if there will be an apocalypse mankind must make an effort to survive. Life must go on. The chances of surviving in a radioactive environment are very slim but maybe somewhere out there, whether it be on earth or valhalla there is an island. Untouched by the evils of evil men. Gods greatest but impure creation must go on and start anew when this time comes.
Ragnarok maybe nigh, but its not such a bad thing. It means that our mother earth will be cleansed of the poisons that evil men have wrought upon her.

Since, inevitably I'll be the cause of the apocalypse, I think preparing would be redundant.
