Anyways. Considering Halloween is all about the spooks, and because it is so fun, people celebrate it the whole month rather than only one day, I wanna get real spooked this year.
First of all, let's set the mood
I want you guys to share the scariest spookiest stories you know. They may be real, they may be fake, they may be books or short stories.(You can even link your own music to go with the stories)
So here's a small summary of the case at Dyatlov Pass:

When their camp was discovered, their tents were found torn open from the inside, and they were wearing very little clothing (in Russia, in winter). It gets weirder. The bodies were stained orange with massive internal injuries from a force that a doctor studying the incident compared to that of a car crash. There were no signs of struggle, despite victims with fractured skulls, broken ribs, and one woman missing her tongue, eyes and other parts of her face. As you'd imagine, all sorts of theories to the cause of the deaths have been tried and tested over the years, but the final verdict was that the hikers died of a "compelling natural force".

Once many families and strangers grouped together, they set off and made a great distance towards their new home, but once they were at a crossroads, a stranger offered a solution. Due to coming weather and the quality of life at the time, things weren't going well, so the stranger suggested a shorter path for the party to take, and they took it. Along this path it was a lot more treacherous then what they believed, but they had to take it since they already went that way, but after a while, they were stuck. Winter started to show it's ugly head and started to entrap the party in snow. Once it was clear that the party couldn't traverse any more and needed help before they died, they sent some messengers to the closest city to go get help. Now accounts are a little tricky of what happened between then and when the messengers returned, but the general consensus was that the group that was left behind, happened to grow a lot smaller. Upon investigation and interrogation of the remaining party, it could be seen that those that had died, seemed to have the bones picked clean, everything including their muscles and eyes were gone. None were entirely willing to talk about the event, but from what happened, it made life difficult for those that survived and those that would want to try and find a new home as well.

So, this is from my own childhood.
When I was younger, I don't recall what age specifically, I'd woken up and gone into my living room for a reason I don't remember.
I recall, distinctly, seeing what I can only describe as a shadow child. It was like someone cut a hole in the air and all that was left was black, except the eyes.
The eyes were red.
There weren't any pupils, just red, like someone had colored the eyes in with MS Paint.
I remember it beckoning to me, and I remember walking toward it.
The only thing separating us was a glass window, since it was standing outside, between the house and the lilac bushes. (There weren't any lilacs in bloom, so it was likely fall.)
Something happened, I don't recall what, but it terrified me enough to go into the kitchen where my older brothers were on the computer.
"There's a monster in the living room!" I had cried, but when they came with me, there wasn't anything.
Before this happened, I could see ghosts and the like perfectly fine, but since then, and only until recently, I couldn't see anything spooky or spoopy. Even then, I can barely make anything out except vague impressions if I focus hard enough.
The thing is, I'm fairly certain I'll meet it again, because it wasn't a child at all.

Well it seems like my story was found out then, how did you guys like how I wrote it? I'll try and write a new story real quick, it should hopefully be fully made up, but I can't guarantee that I have any inspirations.
In the town of Eithcan, there was a tight knit community that welcomed all travellers, even those that seemed in a rough shape and managed to be friendly to all of the surrounding wild life, and with it was a family of wolves that everyone knew. Every month the wolves would either start howling or play with the children of the town, it was always peaceful then. But one month went by and there wasn't a sign of the wolves at all, no one reacted too much due to the thought of, 'Maybe the wolves have to rest now' or how, 'Maybe one of them is sick'. After a couple of months, people started to worry, not because of the wolves though, but because of a high amount of children disappearing. After 3 kids disappeared in one month, people started to organize neighbourhood watches and decided to search the forests. Most searches didn't turn out so well, some people got lost, some people seemed to be different, and some just felt some kind of bad feeling. Finally after weeks of looking, one group found an outcropping, it contained some bones, sticking out of the ground, there weren't any skulls to identify what they were, but from the count and size, it seemed like it was the lost children. After investigating the area a little more, they stumbled upon a cave nearby, deep inside were the bodies of the wolf pack, there also seemed to be a child's body next to them with some paper with some scribblings and drawings. From what the paper said, it seemed like the children regarded the wolves as a family and how they went out to look for them when they felt something wasn't right, it seemed like none of them wanted to believe what happened, so they stayed and tried to make the wolves better, until some dark figure came and did something.
How do you guys think this piece is, I had a tough time managing to keep it all together and think it may be a little low on detail or so.

@Kris, I started to lose my idea, so I just went with the first thing in my mind that sounded creepy in the slightest......I mean it's an interpretative art piece, the horror will be different to everyone, for you it seems to be the unknown, while for someone like Skurn, it would be leprechaun rabbits. How's the rest of the piece besides that, and the summary of the dinner Party, also is anyone hungry, I brought some spare meat for us to eat while we tell stories.

Long ago, during my vagabond years, I was staying at an old rundown farmhouse in the backwoods of Minnesota with some old hippies and their rather attractive daughter, which was kind of fun, though I was often sick the entire time I was there. Despite its dilapidation, the house always felt very welcoming, and I always returned to find the kitchen light on when I returned, no matter who had turned it off before. On the final morning of my stay, I lay drowsing on the floor staring at light on the ceiling, contemplating my life... when I hear a very loud click to my right and the light suddenly turning on. I immediately shot up out of my sleeping bag and freaked the fuck out. *Something* turned on that light and I knew that it would have taken an electrical surge so powerful it would have blown out that light to move that old sticky switch. It was the first personal experience I've ever had of something "supernatural" that I couldn't just explain away.
Another ghostly encounter came while living in California, and would usually happen around dawn. I'd wake up from really these very intense, violent dreams and see, standing the corner of the room of a girl with ashen-skin, long, black-stringy hair, and large bright-red lips. She'd quickly fade as I woke, but was always left with this lingering sense of loneliness. This happened maybe 2 or 3 times in my years there... the final time happening maybe a week before I was to move away. As I woke from an intensely painful dream that I sadly forgot to record, I awoke finding that I couldn't move. In the place where she usually stood was this solid red rod about 6 feet long and maybe a foot in diameter that stuck out at an angle into the middle of the room above my futon. My eyes then wandered to the very real presence on my left and I saw her kneeling next to me, her face a mere 2 feet away from mine. I saw her bright red lips... just a bit too wide for her face, which was just a bit too stretched and angular... and her eyes, no longer obscured by hair, just black, empty sockets. Then, she and the rod faded and I could move again.
These are just a few of the things I've encountered.

@Dack: It's not that it's 'unknown' so much as it doesn't match the flow of the narrative. When it comes to any form of horror or scary story, there has to be cohesion. You don't go from zombies to creepy clowns unless the clowns are zombies as well, and you don't go from wolves eating children to some sort of nebulous supernatural ass pull.

The scariest paranormal experience I've ever had was at 2am when I couldn't sleep so I started drawing, and all of a sudden the music box on a shelf started playing by itself. It wasn't some creepy old music box I found in my grandparent's attic, It was actually something like this. But that didn't make it any less creepier...

@Striker, do you have any more stories of back when then? Also does that mean you were homeless at a time, if so, do you have more hobo stories? Also what did the attractive daughter look like, did she resemble the dark figure at all?

@Dack, Yes, I've been homeless, though in most of my travels I've managed to have a roof over my head that wasn't a car's. I have stories, but tend to keep them to myself. I'm sure I'll drop one or two from time to time here.
I suppose she looked a bit like the girl, but not really. She was petite, had long brown hair... and a rather ample bust, but the most striking part of her were her eyes that shone with a color somewhere between grey, blue, and green.

The Dyatlov Pass incident is a real mystery. What's difficult to explain is the conjunction of what could have scared the campers badly enough to leave through their tent in their underwear, and how the group that was found furthest away suffered such grievous injurious. Of course this was in 1959 USSR, and the investigation left something to be desired. It's very possible there were important observations to be made, or key evidence to collect at the scene, that never was.

I've never experienced sleep paralysis. I know you can't move, but why do so many people see scary figures?

@scratcher: yeah, I've had it occasionally, but it's pretty rare. What made this instance of sleep paralysis stand out was that it was repeated.
