Need music help plz
Ok so a friend of mine is having this old-style themed party, (think great gatsby)
And he put me in charge of music, so i need your guys help finding suitable music,
im thinking like jazz/croon/instumental/bigband type stuff, so if yall know a place where i could download a whole bunch of that, or point me to a good forum or somthing where i could ask all this, thatd be just grand.
Im asking here cuz i dont actually lurk on any other forums other than the DN.
thankies.

Smoky alert, freak out.
Oh, and tell him to switch the theme. If not, you could always rent a saxophone and play the same note over and over again in a constant stream of long breaths. That could work too.

Metropole Orkest is a really really good big band. Though, they might not be quite what you're looking for. Not quite party music.
Perhaps the Haferflocken Swingers would be more towards what you want. Swing makes for pretty good party music.
You might be able to find a few songs that fit what you need by Cee-Roo off his tribute album. Though if the remixes aren't quite right, the original forms would be good. So I'd look into some Marvin fabulouse, Ella Fitzgerald, Otis Redding, Nina Simone, James Brown, Ray Charles, and Frank Sinatra.
The Blues Brothers would probably provide exactly what you want.
The Lucinda Belle Orchestra might also be good. Elle and the Pocket Belles too possibly.
Anyways, start with that.

Hrm, Marvin Fabulouse.... Well, hopefully you know what his last name actually is.
