Guys I broke something.

I think I deleted the Herb Boots item-graphic or whatever from my DMOD because I don't have it anymore. So I downloaded the source-graphics to re-add it, only to find that it's not in there either. What's up with that?

Dink Smallwood died. As had happened so many times before, he fell to his knees and planted his face into a rapidly-expanding pool of his own blood. But this time was different. When the player pressed the start button, Dink was still dead, for true death is a thing that cannot be undone. The player was confused. He checked the scripts - Skorn must have done this using save_exist. "That's actually pretty clever," he thought. "Maybe I won't give this the Award of Badness after all." But there was nothing to cause this in the scripts. He deleted all of the save files and tried again. Dink was still dead.

He tried to launch another D-Mod. Dink was dead there, too. The snarky hero, the former pig farmer, he was no more. The other characters in the intro to "Dink's Doppleganger" acted as if he were still there, but when the game started, he could do nothing. It was the same with every D-Mod he tried, except those that didn't star Dink at all - those still worked. But Dink himself was dead and gone. They had asked so much of him, pushed him into so many strange and awful situations. The chins were the last straw. The concept of Dink Smallwood had died.

- The Predictions of Cocomonkey, Verses 24-33.

There's your answer. The Great Vanishing of Dink Sprites that escalates into the Vanishing of Dink Himself has begun.

But really, that is some weird shit. If this is the file you checked for the boots, are they not in inter/menu? I checked. They're not. Weird decision to not include them. I guess just reinstall unless you have some way to unpack the graphics from the original game?

If that doesn't work, take heed the words of The Predictions of Cocomonkey for the Great Vanishing is the first true sign of end times. The only way to stop it is to prevent Dink and the Chins from existing and we don't have time to build a time machine unless us beginning work on one creates an alternate timeline where the Great Vanishing isn't a threat and we eventually make the time machine, travel to this dimension's past, and then stop Dink and the Chins from existing.

Oh yeah, the source lacks some graphics. The King and Seth aren't there, either.

Maybe they were removed/commented out in your dmod's ini. I don't know why you would've put the graphics in there yourself. Does the original game still have them?

Ah yeah, I get you. I'd thrown the graphics in just so I could lazily append extra images into it without having to add ini stuff, but I guess I'll have to do it properly. Cheers breh.

I don't get it. You put the herb boots in there so you didn't have to write ini lines yourself? It would've loaded them from the original game anyways.

No no I mean, I wanted to add extra graphics into the originals, and because I couldn't be bothered with ini lines, I just added the original INTER/MENU folder in and added stuff. But because I'd copied over the one from the Source Graphics, I hadn't noticed it'd removed the Herb Boots.

But then only you'll get those graphics if you do that.

Nah 'cause I was adding my own stuff into the same folder, it was just a lazy way to try and make everything stay as 1 sequence. Anyway, got it fixed now

I tried adding stuff into the sequences of the original dink stuff before. I got it to work by copying the weird compressed graphics file in the dink folder that I wanted to expand to. Moved it over to the graphics folder in my dmod. Added the image files I was using to expand the selection and made sure their name was the same of the one in the ini and the numbers followed directly after the original graphics numbers end. I.e if the fireball seq has 16 images and I wanted to add 4 more to make 20 images, I'd start the graphics I was adding at 17. After that just make sure the .ini path matches up with what you're trying to load.

Your problem may just be a missing file in the source graphics, but if you pull the graphics from the original game you shouldn't have a problem. Using the source graphics is better if you're modifying the graphics, but pulling the graphics from the original game is probably better if you just want to add more stuff to that sequence.
