cpu ratio
Quick off-topic question for all the wizkids among you.
I recently added a cd-rewriter drive to my computer. All went find and it works but after rebooting I got the message CPU or CPU ratio has changed. Problem is I lost the book that came with my Jetway motherboard
so I don't know the original settings.
Now the bios says the CPU ratio's minimum is 4x and the max is 23x. I've got it now on 8x. Is it save to change it up to 23x?
I've got a Via Technologies Pentium 4 processor.
By the way, I'm not interested in overclocking.
Thanks

im late, srry,
If your CPU speed (mhz) isnt changed, then dont touch the setting, if you mean the "multiplier" or "fsb" and you raise it up to 23x ( I think its the multiplier
) and your cpu IS unlocked, you will blow it up.
Most processors are locked and changing the mulitplier doesnt change their speeds...
