Did anyone hear about this? It's pretty horrible what happened there. And well, I'd say a lot more but I don't know really what to say. Other than that no matter how many times I see these kinda things, people's craziness always manages to surprise me.

Yes, and I'm pretty sure that the media will have a hay day with the person/people who did this, and then people will want to do it for fame, and then I will be very displeased.

Thus is the unfortunate cycle of press.

I have a very slow internet connection so I'm not able to easily browse news sites (these tend to be ultra-cluttered with flashy crap). Is there an actual reason behind the bombs? I mean, do they know anything about the persons who did it?

So it would seem as though the general public is assuming this was not domestic. Most likely because the general public is pretty stupid. I don't believe they know who's responsible for either bombing as of yet. (There were two that are assumed to be an unrelated coincidence)

Well, it's tax day. So that *could* be the reason.

At least 3 people died, and "dozens" (meaning it could be anywhere between 5 to 50 people) were badly hurt. "Hundreds of people were injured", but that doesn't really mean anything; a scrape on the arm or a gash on the forehead tend to count toward the broad statistics.

It was also something called Patriots' Day over there, which is in all likelihood related to the motive.

There are some ghastly pics out there (bones jutting out of people, blood drenched runners, etc) if you're willing to look.

10 times as many killed in bomb attacks around Iraq yesterday, also, lest we be too western in our despair.
