Re: In other news: Disney acquires LucasFilms
Extra! Extra! Read all about it!
They promise Star Wars: episode 7 in 2015. What are your thoughts about all this?
I also checked my calendar to see if it was April 1st in October before I fell off my chair.

I saw it. I sense the potential for complete and utter disaster.
I hope they'll get LucasFilms "on their feet" and produce movies again.
Interesting. I'm glad to see the Star Wars franchise out of George Lucas's hands. As far as I'm concerned, the point of complete and utter disaster was reached with the prequels, so there's nowhere to go but up.
It could get worse. They could hire Shymalan.
When I heard about it this morning I was as skeptical as anything, but I'm actually kind of excited for this episode 7 business. Purely because I'm monstrously intrigued to see how it's going to pan out, as I'm assuming we'll see a brand new story with brand new characters (considering the old storyline, as Scratcher said, was exhausted beyond belief
), and I love the various Star Wars stories that are told throughout the various games and such.
So honestly, I'm pumped, but will remain a teensy bit skeptical.

It can either be really good or really bad. But quite honestly, I'm kinda tired of Star Wars. LucasFilms needs to invent something new.
Dont disrespect star wars
They haven't made a Star Wars in 7 years. I think it's time. The Clone Wars was a stand-in.
George Lucas:
"It's now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers.
"I've always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime."
"I'm confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organisation, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come."

I can't help but agree with Captain George. After so many years, I still love watching Star Wars films, Star Wars shorts, playing Star Wars games and reading the multitudes of books set in the Star Wars universe.
Why not release a new set of feature length films? Disney's definitely nailed their business yet again.

Yeah, to me Star Wars have been living of the glory of the early films too long reusing the same ideas over and over, let's hope disney can bring it some new life... they certainly can't make it worse..
While I feel that there has to be better groups to handle the Lucasfilm IP, after the crap that Lucas has been churning out in the past decade or so, it really can only be an improvement.
as most of you know i am a huge fan of starwars. And ive got to say.... i kind of agree with striker.
the Clone wars series is an inuslt to: starwars in general, starwars fans, yoda, and the new zealand accent(o.m.g)
i also agree that perhaps old george couldve picked someone better than disney....
hmmmm....

I hope Disney won't start stuffing the movies with their usual songs.

Star Wars: The Musical! XD
Now that is the kind of fresh ideas Star Wars needs!

I hope they bring the original cast back. Ford said he was open to it.
yeah, cept ol leia has gotta lose a wee bit of weight to cameo

That sounds potentially awful, unless their bloated old versions are all sitting in a smoky cornerclub somewhere, bitterly reminiscing "WHAT HAS BECOME OF US?"
