Removing ghost posting?
Do you think we should remove the ability to ghost post (posting on the forum without an account)?
I imagine it was once created to make it easy for users new to the game to ask a quick question if they get stuck, but nowadays 90% of all forums require an account, so most people doesn't even try to post before making one.
Also the problem with ghosts is that we can't ban their users account, because they haven't got one...
So what do you think?

I recommended a less drastic measure.
That was that the mods should approve/disapprove of each ghost post before it becoming visible.
The mods didnt even accept that.

Nah, I thnk ghost posting is alright. It's not hard to get ridd of ghosts either.

A sad trend... The only benefit of preventing ghost posting is that it reduces the amount of random spam (someone popping in and posting "sdpigjfawrogj" or "you guys suck" or whatever), and spam from bots (rod enlargenment pills!). TDN is so small that this kind of thing has never been a problem. Besides that, preventing ghost posting just makes a forum look like an unfriendly place full of inbred pricks.

Yeah, I do find having to create accounts at sites you are only going to visit once or twice annoying, but you can't deny that we have a problem with at least one ghost posting racist comments and spamming..
We can ban IPs, but currently we can't ban anyone without redink1's cooperation. Apparently life has kept him a bit busy for the pleas of Striker and I. Still hoping...
