Grasp of Darkness

Part 1 - Freg Island
In the first part we arrive on Freg Island, explore and begin the first quest.
Fun Question: Do you think the weird wizard guy is Farmer Bob? (Answer on our website).

I guess he bought the boots to reduce loading and running time, a valid point for a Let's Play.

Yeh, guess you have a point there. Mention for Skull: The final boss gets faster if you got the boots in the inventory.

Nah, don't. Do the Let's Play with the boots on, I think that'll do best. I watched it and I gotta say it's nice so far! You've probably figured it out that you can blow up the rock in the basement to get access to the bonus stage that rewards you with the Ice Orb spell. I recommend you checking out the walkthrough so you can get all the powerups and defeat the secret boss! (with herb boots or not, but you'll be more badass if you manage without) Oh, and the wizard's name is Darius.

Too bad the recording quality sucks during recording so you can't read dark green text and such. :/

great part however i do recommend you getting all power ups the bonus weapons alone ar worth it and well i'll just tell you you can blow it up(and have to more or less for not only LP reasons also for the bonus weapon worth $2,95 IIRC.

and another hint do it pre final boss because the weapons aid in killing him(in the end i killed him with herb boots and hellfire)

You'll also unlock hardmode for the secret boss if you collect all the powerups! Give yourself a PRRRRRRRRROMOTION if you manage to beat him when he's on hardmode and without the herb boots.

Nice work on this... as soon as I get around to rendering all the Historical Hero parts, I'll start making more lps of other Dmods to add to the channel as well.

MMM guess i should do that to myself that then because when i finally reached him i managed to bet him on hard(barely though) without herb boots(the minor strength upgrade and speed didn't outweigh the damage of slashmaster for me) In the and i had more trouble with time then damage he did.(10 out of 10 deaths was due to out of time) and well i hope that skull manges to do so as-well.

With great regret, I must inform that this Let's Play has been canceled. I have resigned from DinkSmallwoodPT, and have no further intentions to be a part of it in any way. I spoke to Rob about this a few months back already, and agreed that once I finish this Let's Play, I would resign. However, it has been close to, if not, four months of this, and I still haven't managed to finish this (what would be quite a short) Let's Play. Not even record the next part. I had the next part recorded, but then ran into some unlikely problems with my video recorders and editors, and couldn't do anything to fix these problems. So, I'm now stopping my DSPT contributions completely, because I just can't be bothered with it anymore. Rob told me that the door would always be open in case I wanted to return, and maybe some day I will. However, for now, I am done with DinkSmallwoodPT. The first part of Grasp of Darkness, I'll leave on YouTube, if for nothing more than simply to advertise The Dink Network.

I'm really sorry, all those who were expecting more videos from me. And I'm really, really, really sorry for Quiztis.

I don't know. I'm honestly thinking about quitting this whole Dink stuff cause it brings no joy to me anymore. All it brings to me is jackasses flaming people for having their points of view about this world.

Nobody flames anyone for having their opinion.

They're flamed because they bring it in the most offensive way, usually on purpose.

In case you haven't noticed, people here bring out their opinions, and get trashed for doing so, which causes them to flame others.

And right now I'm gonna take upon myself, no matter what people think about it, to remind the staff in every single point, that even though they have been granted into staff, they aren't Gods amongst peoples' views. Especially you, Christiaan, blaming you know how existence was created just to talk down my beliefs.

Skull, please do present some proof of these opinions being talked down. Note that you can only bring forth evidence where the post stating the opinions was made in a reasonable, non offensive, non inflammable way

A good example would be MsDink's post about the role of women for example. PURE opinion, no flaming. Now take the thread: "Religion is retarted". Unsupported, inflammable and potentially offensive opinion, gets flamed. I like this, it's called good behaviour gets rewarded

If you paid closer attention to them, I was on the receiving end of flaming in both of those threads, just cause I expressed on how I saw things. Christiaan was the one who began explaining how he knew how existence was created, and MsDink, well... don't know what's gotten into her.

EDIT: And re-reading all of the posts in MsDink's thread, I was having a regular conversation, when Christiaan called me ignorant. I don't know about flaming, but one thing's for dang sure, and that is, I'm not gonna stand by just to get insulted for nothing.

Alright I read through it all again too. I don't see anyone flaming you, nor do I see anyone calling you flat out ignorant. "saying that scientific data isn't always right is an ignorant thing to say". This is the only thing you might be refering to, but it's not calling YOU ignorant, which is something totally different. All I see is people debating and not necesarrily agreeing with your views.

He insulted my education. He said my statements were ignorant, which in other words means, I would have to be ignorant to make such a statement. Also, after I quite calmly, after all this, tell him what I believe of existence, he says "Ok, good luck with that" as a mock towards my beliefs, which certainly creates the feeling that he thinks he can mock others beliefs, cause his belief is the only right one.

How about pointing out to me now, where I was flaming people in those threads? I can see it heading the flaming way, towards the end, but that was only after I had been basically told to "f*ck off with my beliefs".

I hate to say this, but I'm not the only one who's seen her behavior change. I hope you understand when I don't wanna point any fingers. We were also quite good friends when she first joined (as far as I can tell) so maybe I see her behavior change more than others?

Skull, I think it's just that you can't just go out and say "these are my beliefs" and then not support them with something to back them up. ESPECIALLY in the case of scientific data. That's what you were being called out on, not your education.

I just think it's not too clever to initiate a counterdebate about something scientific when you're not adept at the material concerned, even IF you have strong beliefs about it. There's certainly other stuff to debate that you're actually experienced in and also have strong beliefs about. I think it's wise to focus on these.

Beliefs don't need support. Half of the world believes in God and they have no proof to back his existence up. I think facts need backing up. Beliefs do not. Christiaan was stating (or at least trying to state) what he claimed were facts. I was giving out my opinions and beliefs.

In the end, I ended up giving much more back up for my beliefs than he ever did for his "facts".

EDIT: I disagree Kyle. I think nothing will ever be proven about the existence. We don't know jackcrap about it. So science is just another way of trying to explain things to a human brain. There, wasn't so hard having a belief about science, now was it?

That's a belief about science as a whole, not a scientific topic.

Making up lies is one thing, making up lies claiming that several people secretly dislike someone else is the lowest. These shadow people can freely express their feelings on this board themselves, otherwise you are only speaking for yourself, as you should be anyway. No one likes someone who brings up opinions discussed privately up on a public forum.

On a different note, sorry to see you abandon making LPs. I wasn't a big watcher, but the few I did watch weren't half bad.

Case you're wondering "Evil of Hell" (Helvetin Paholainen) was my nickname before Disembodied One. Courtesy of my real-life friends. I took the name here, just like "Skull" (Kallo) and wrote a thread when I was hit by a car. Evil of Hell was just a random name, which obviously you would take as something else.

Third thread. Don't even start. That was posted exactly two years ago. And as you may have noticed, June really ain't my month, and if I was God, I would dang sure kick June's ass.

For the fourth thread, I don't even know what to say. You really need to go raise your trust on people on some therapist, if you take everything as a lie.

Now, for the subject at hand. On Skype, here in a PM, in the chat, in the chat's PM. These are the places that I have been complained about MsDink's recent behavior. Some of them might have been with the same person, for all I remember, but there is more than 3 alongside with me.

EDIT: Next thing Scratcher is going to post, is something which says that everything I post is a lie, still. Even though he ain't got any proof for his statements. Cause there just ain't pleasing stupid mofos like him.

EDIT 2: Oh, and I'm pretty sure Scratcher's just mad at how I've been talking about the staff recently. Poor him. Knowing I could do his job better given the chance, but too afraid to admit it.

And just to play a little bit of Scratcher's poor game. His post is like if I took this ancient thread, and accused him of being constant liar and flamer because of saying all that.
