Changing the hardness for specific tiles
I've added a couple new tiles to my DMOD, but of course the default hardness for them is utterly wrong. Is there a way to edit this in WinDinkEdirt so that the edited hardness is the default for the tiles? I tried searching the forums but all the answers are for how to change hardness so it DOESN'T become a default hardness which I can already do.
EDIT: Just realised I put WinDinkEdirt when it should be WinDinkEdit, so whoops!

You have most likely placed them on some older tiles that have hardness around them. Try putting them to some other tiles' place.
I know you can do that, but I'm sure I read somewhere you can remap (if that's the word) the hardness to the tiles... So if for instance I replaced the rock tiles with cave tiles (dunno why I would, but I'm just using it as an example) then I could redraw the hardness so they would match the cave instead of the rocks. So I was wondering if there's any way to do that without screwing up anything else?
Sure, that is possible. To be honest, I can't even remember how to, so I was just giving an easier example of how to do it.

After re-reading your post, I just realised I'd actually miss-read it... Your method will actually work just fine, so thanks man!

You can edit the default hardness in Dinkedit by pressing enter on a tile. I'm pretty sure you can also edit it in WDE, by right-clicking tiles and stuff, if memory serves. =)
Anyhow, hardness editing is rather a mess... It's easy screw something up, like making hardness appear on tiles it shouldn't (such as plain grass), so be sure to make backups of hard.dat if you delve into it.

Ok cool, thanks scratcher, I'll check that out anyways
