My time has come to upload some of my stuff to Dailymotion. YouTube just deleted my hard worked on video that absolutely did not break as much copyright as some of the videos I've seen. Ducking YouTube sucks horse ass. those idiots went and deleted my videos after being online for about 24 hours and videos that ducking didn't break any copyrights. from now on, all that kinda stuff is gonna go to Dailymotion, I'm telling you. And I suggest you to do so too. To at least secure that your channel won't get deleted.

dang, that sucks. Copyright was claimed by who, exactly? You only used Dink Smallwood material, in which case it could only be RTSoft, but hey, I don't see Seth doing that.

Oh well, at least Dailymotion doesn't sporadically remove videos like Youtube does.

It wasn't Dink Smallwood material, but it was something that in my opinion was really not worth deleting. Copyright was claimed by someone who has nothing to do with anything I uploaded, which is quite strange.

And yeah, Dailymotion is far better when it comes to copyright claims. YouTube's goal seems to be deleting videos. I mean, it's tag line should be "Broadcast yourself, until we delete all your vids".

No, not a report. They just sent me a message saying some crap about different USA laws (which can't even effect me, as I live in Finland) and that stealing others' material is not legal, and I could be in serious trouble. Then they said who sent the copyright breaking claim, was some weird company I've never heard about.

Youtube is based in the US and uses their laws, so even if you were allowed to break copyright from Finland you just can't do it on their website!

If Dailymotion gets as popular as Youtube the same thing will happen there eventually...

But that's the point... it won't get as popular.

Well I didn't mean WE wouldn't watch your videos anymore, of course it doesn't make a difference to us what we'll be watching it on. But people just randomly searching or subscribers won't find yours, cause everyone is on Youtube for that

I changed that into just "PlayStation games". And I might just as well start doing those as the other stuff failed. First I'm gonna do an LP of a new game "Red Dead Redemption" cause it's epic (and mainly so I don't forget all the stuff I need to do ). I'll upload a video and put download links cause otherwise YouTube will probably be a she dog again and delete them.

Red Dead Redemption? I hope you're not going to do every quest, that would take years to LP

EDIT: The latest/first one I did without a walkthrough I got something like 85%. For the LP, I'm gonna use the walkthrough for some parts.

You can counter sue with a false copyright claim to destroy YouTube and bring back loads of videos from your channel and other people who didn't break any copyrighting.

I can't even upload to YouTube due to laws in South Korea.

Fact is, I indeed broke copyright, not that much, but yes. But the point is: First, I did not break copyright enough so they should delete my videos. Second, there are loads of videos with much more copyrighted material in them. Third, the company that had claimed the copyright breaking, DOES NOT EXIST and HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE VIDEOS I UPLOADED.

So what was it, exactly? So far it sounds like Youtube did exactly what they should do.

They aren't doing what they should do, they are doing what they have to do.

I think most of us can agree that they should keep videos even if they violates copyright laws, but they have to delete them otherwise they would get sued sooner or later for hosting those illegal videos.

Get sued? Big ducking deal. I mean, they live in America. Being so rich, they could pay themselves out of a first degree murder.

YouTube wouldn't be able to pay anyone anything if they got into problems with the big companies. The music and film industries are what really control the economy of the US.

Look, the point is, copyright cannot be claimed by someone who has nothing to do with the material of the video, and even less by someone (a company) that doesn't exist.

A site like YouTube can only be viable if it agrees to take down any copyrighted material. They can ignore it to a certain extent by saying "There is so much uploaded to YouTube on any given day, there's no way we can effectively police it." However, due to this, I imagine they have said that they will take down any videos that are reported as breaking copyright.

If RTSoft (read, anyone) go to sue YouTube for hosting copyrighted material, and it comes out that YouTube have already been notified that the material was copyrighted (regardless of who notified them), they're dead in the water.

It's the only way they can remain viable; "We can't monitor it all, but we promise to take something down if someone lets us know it shouldn't be there." It may not seem fair to you, the end-user, but they have to do it to protect themselves.
