If you can program you can easily learn a new language if you need to. The basics of programming are the same.
You should look into studying software engineering, you'll not only learn how to program there but also how to design your applications and how to manage your code.
Also, if you want to be a good programmer, start early. Starting an education in any related subject will be much easier and you'll understand a lot more if you're coming from a point where you can already program a bit.
