Skeleton
Is there any way to tell what Skeleton you have used for a dmod? I have noticed quite a difference in the options available, I have my chosen fav but don't know which I started with *sigh* any ideas? (the one I want has heaps of choices of different hardness tiles ... )
You can tell it's joshriot's skeleton if the sounds are loaded in main.c instead of start.c.
I think those are the only real options, at least if you downloaded the skeleton from here. Morpheus' Skeleton X just adds some stuff on Skeleton B.

Skeleton B all the way! Doesn't really answer the question, but still...

Crikey you lurkers
- that was fast... is there a skeleton s... or is that Joshriots? ... how many are there?

I believe there are 4. "Skeleton", "Skeleton S", "Skeleton X", and in my opinion the best, "Skeleton B".
EDIT: Ah, "Skeleton" apparently is known as "Skeleton B" as well. My bad.

Awesome thanks guys, shall download them all and try those suckers out... The one I started Furball with had way less hardness tile choices than ASQ (my first game) and I liked that selection better so wanna use that again, err but don't remember which I used for either *rolls eyes*. Thanks muchly ta for the tips
Edit: lol

Yea, Skeleton S is joshriot's. Skeleton B -> Skeleton, I believe. Probably renamed it so that newbies wouldn't be overwhelmed by all the different options.

Ha newbies like me?
Guess what - I don't think that's working for me!!
har de har har har
*sigh*
Thanks tho...

Scratcher, I actually believe that Snyder released the version B of the Skeleton to fix some errors, and named the first version "Skeleton A" after that.
EDIT: What went wrong, MsDink? Just copy the Skeleton folder into your Dink Smallwood folder in Program Files. Then if you're using WDE/WDE+, create a new D-Mod, if you're using DinkEdit, copy the stuff in the Skeleton into your D-Mod's folder.

Well ASQ has gotten too big and I want to condense it. I wanted to start clean and transfer some of the screens, so I need to use the same hardness tiles or its just a mess to fix up and I may as well put it out there as it is. I had made a "MsDink skeleton" but seemed to have used the one with the hardness I didn't like - so...
thats why I wanna find my favourite one...

Wouldn't copying hard.dat from the original dink-mod work just as well as using a skeleton or something? Or am I not helping?

No that didn't work - I did that with Furball and it didn't overwrite it, just made one heck of a mess of the map - I think you need to take your hard.dat and map.dat for that to work and I sure as heck don't wanna overwrite a years work n the map

:X
I'm pretty sure taking hard.dat shouldn't change the hardness ON your map, just the hard tiles in the tileset you can select from. Which is essential if your Dmod's hard.dat somehow glitches up and stops doing what it should do, which happened to me with FoD a couple of times (not letting me stamp hardness and blanking out some of the hard tile options).
Disregard my unhelpfulness

Found it - Thanks for all your suggestions
Edit - yeah it did change it on my map. Ya cant select the tiles if they're not there

You could have also copied the hard.dat from your own dmod... (the one you're moving out from)
Tried that as well scratcher... tried to dump the hard.dat in furball, but it also messed up the hardness somehow and put little triangles all over each screen. Although - they were evenly spaced (if that is a plus)
So I ended up putting the original back.
I don't know why it messed up, may have been a one off glitch or may not have been - I just wanted to start fresh because on the furball skeleton, apart from less choices of hard tiles, 1 also couldn't use screen #1. ASQ's screen #1 works fine.
For any one interested it was Mike Snyders B I was looking for.
