I got this PM just a few minutes ago from some guy at YouTube:

Hey,

Your new video post was great.
I hope to see more good videos from you in the future.
If you would like to see a video on how to get featured on youtube and learn some neat tricks on making videos please take a look at this site.

http://www.movieswar.com/feature-on-youtube/

Theres a small survey to do but only takes a minute to do and is worth the time.
Good work and keep it up.

Tom

So, what do you think? Is this a spammer/bot sent message, or a real deal from a fan? Also, has anyone else received this message?

Cheers guys,
Skull.

Doesn't sound genuine, there's nothing *personal* in the post that wouldn't apply to anyone who's ever posted a video on Youtube. No one says "your new video post" if they're referring to a specific video you posted.

Funny thing is, I just uploaded something, and it already has a few views so... maybe it's a bot that automatically sends that PM when you upload something. I don't know, sigh.

Tell us now, what did you upload?

And it sounds fake as hell.

This is obviously fake. This guy probably sends out these PM's automatically, he gets payed for everyone completing the survey. CPAlead is the company this guy is using. After completing the survey you'll (probably) get a page with some very generic tips you could have figured out yourself. And this guy has earned some money...

EDIT: And you're not the only one complaining...

You feed the madness, and it feeds on you.
Delete it and ignore it, I get lots of these on my other account and there is also one going around that includes a link which will take you a page that looks exactly the same as youtube, except it's not, and it'll ask you to sign in and then steal your username and password. This obviously isn't that one though, it's just a spambot, but I'd ignore these if you get anymore, it's easy to tell when it's a spambot.

That is so obviously spam you shouldn't even have bothered asking.

You can usually get confirmation by checking their profiles - usually just a few videos filled with stupidity can be found there, and sometimes random people asking them "who are you / why did you friend me / are you a spambot" etcetera.

Do you mean to say that there's a virus? It's possible, but I think the creator of the spam message is just trying to lure people onto his site, creating revenue for any ads showing on there.
