Tsunami Warning

New Zealand will be affected by this according to Civil Defence people and blah blah blah. Expect the possibility of no contact from New Zealanders (theres a list on my profile here) that frequent the DN.

at first I was thinking "huh, this won't affect me", then I remembered that Christchurch IS a coastal city

This morning, the small isle that acts as Australia's sole eastern line of defense (secretly, our' response to China's Great Wall) Disappeared 'neath foamy waves. RIP NZ. Australians are advised to avoid the eastern beaches this morning, so we're all migrating to Western Australia and will be WA's first visitors since Perth was founded in 1829.

QUICK UPDATE:

So far there's been no BIG wave. Tsunami was supposed to hit my area around 9:35 this morning; As of yet there has been no real development that I'm aware of so I'm sitting at home still with Evactuation equipment prepared.

So far, all is well. Famous last words...

I checked teh site and it said that most of the waves were supposed to have hit this morning, and I'm like "wtf I only heard about this earthquake today and the waves have already hit NZ?"

Whats funny is that this is like 1960. The waves hit, and they're OH so dangerous; 1 metre swells. F*** you, Civil Defence.

I doubt most of the people here know how to die, so they would drift in the ocean until they found a boat with an internet connection.
