Island of Hell
No story...
the game actually crashes when you hit the boss...
Hardness errors, like wolf321 said.
A boring Dmod, I hope that Laughlan Fahey tries better next time, but everyone must have a start somewhere.

I was actually surprised how well the scripting was in this dmod,
except for the final boss script. There was some hardness lacking on
some sprites but, overall, everything worked pretty good.
There wasn't much of a storyline, dink just talks to a few people,
burns a few trees and kills a few monsters.Still, the author has
obviously put some effort into making this dmod unlike some other dmods
I've seen around this site.I'm also impressed to see someone so young
tackling the scripting.Nice job.

Island of Hell:
Story:
NO STORY!!
Graphics:
Only original, a lot of hardness bugs.
Music:
A few midis from original game.
Gameplay:
Boring DMOD, you can only fight with easy boncas, and at the end you meet with final boss, but you cannot defeat him becouse if you hit him the game crashes.
Scripts are original scripts from main game, nothing new...
Overall:
Small, boring, with full of errors DMOD.

Island of Hell, a D-mod made by Laughlan Fahey.
When I saw the title screen of this D-mod, I thought this could actually be a nice, little adventure. But there really isn't much to do in this D-mod. Only things that are scripted are the shopkeepers (They have scripts from the original game, which are just modified a little bit), the secret trees, and the enemies. There really isn't any story. It just looks like that you have crashed onto the island without a reason. After wandering around a little bit, I found a cave, with a lot of boncas. In the first screen, I thought that it's nice to have some fighting in the D-mod. In the second screen, I was like 'Well OK. I guess I can beat more of there guys...'. And in the third screen, I was thinking about things, that cannot be told here. Mostly, because it would just swearing... I mean, the fighting in this D-mod is fairly easy, but it's just boring to keep killing those boncas. And then finally, I got onto the screen with the boss. After I killed the pillbugs, I started beating the boss. He swings his tail at me, and... Bling! The game "crashed". When I looked at the bosses script, in the void attack, I saw the kill_game(); command. No wonder it quit... I didn't bother to go and kill it again, since the game seemed to end here anyway. There were a plenty of other screens too, when I looked from the map editor, but I guess the author became lazy or just ran out of ideas...
GRAPHICS: Just the original ones (The only new one was the title screen).
n/a
STORY; Story? What story? There actually wasn't one. Dink is just visiting the Island of Hell. When you kill the huge bonca, that should be the end of the game...
3.0
MIDIS AND SOUNDS: Nothing new here, but the original midis used kinda fit the situation.
6.8
MAPPING: There is nothing new in this. Just a plain map, where some tiles don't just cut right. And the shipwreck (If it is supposed to be one) looks weird. It just doesn't look like a shipwreck at all...
5.7
GAMEPLAY: Boring. The fights were too easy, there weren't any people to talk to (Except the shopkeepers).
3.5
I would have given a higher score, if there would be some people to talk to...
OVERALL: A small D-mod about fighting. Only download this, if you like easy fighting, or if you are just really bored.
4.8
Oh, but I have to give some bonus points, because the author is only 10 years old, and he has managed to create a D-mod
+1
