Awards: January Voting Has Ended
Posted by redink1 on Monday March 3rd, at 03:01 PM
Binrit's D-Mod Dry won the January 2003 Download of the Month award with a hefty 60% of the votes. Binirit also won the December 2002 DOTM (in a tie)... too bad she didn't release any new file in February, it wouldn've been cool to win three DOTM's in a row, but two in a row is cool too.

Awards: February 2003 DOTM Voting
Posted by WC on Tuesday March 4th, at 10:58 AM
Well, since redman is the new lazy staff member I have activated the nuclear bomb called DOTM. This month there is not a lot of things to vote for, so rummage through the scraps and pick the tastiest one. Vote Here for either one of these files; Battlesys, Pilgrim's Quest Enemy Graphics Pack, or Ted's Tools and Toys. Have a blast, remember, you can vote more than once, but only your last vote counts, and don't do anything I wouldn't do.
Update:Due to complications with the Miasma 2.0 database, most of your votes were not registered. Please vote again. Voting is now extended untill march 18th.

New Contest: Evil Hero D-Mod
Posted by redink1 on Wednesday March 12th, at 02:18 PM
Are you interested in making D-Mods, but simply can't find the motivation to do it? Or are you quite good at making them, and want to find a new challenge? Tada, this Contest might help.

Basically, the goal of the contest is to make an Evil Hero D-Mod. It also allows D-Mods to compete against D-Mods in a Contest, instead of battling everything in DOTM contests.

New Dev File : Debug Bitmap
Posted by Kyle on Friday March 14th, at 05:05 AM
IvanMZ has released Debug Bitmap, a utility that lets you inspect the graphics in various d-mods. It detects True Color Format, incorrect values and damaged files. It's pretty easy to install and only around 200 kb, so there's really no reason not to download it, unless you're completely uninterested in doing something with graphics for your d-mod.

New Dev File: Experience Machine
Posted by redink1 on Monday March 17th, at 10:24 PM
Scratcher has released a new development file by the name The Experience Machine. And what does this Experience Machine do? Well, the readme file looks like rambling that has nothing to do with the experience machine at all. From what I can gather, it was originally going to be in a D-Mod called Castlemania (which has been cancelled), and the Experience Machine allows you to create a monster based on values you put into it.

New D-Mod: Glenn's First D-Mod
Posted by redink1 on Monday March 17th, at 10:29 PM
Glenn has released Glenn's First D-Mod. Unfortunatly, there wasn't a description included with the D-Mod at all. So, I made up a story, which you can see in the comments.

New Dev Files: Green Axe Knight & Force Field Graphics
Posted by Dukie on Monday March 24th, at 08:59 AM
Long time Dink afficionado SimonK has graced us all with two more of his usually-great-being graphics packs! One has all animation (walking, fighting) for a green knight (as the name suggests) and the other one, surprisingly contain graphics for an animated force field. I've checked out both and they look great. Great enough to be used in the Evil Hero D-Mods everyone is making for the contest! Yes indeed!

Awards: February Voting Has Ended

Jump for joy, everyone! Not only did we start the voting prematurely thanks to WC, but now we've posted the results much too late! I'm sure you could care less, though, so I shall announce the winners.

Ted's Tools and Toys emerged victorious in the February 2003 DOTM with 40% of the overall votes. Congratulations to the talented Ted Shutes.
