The Dink Network

E-mail scams. Virus warning

I'm not sure how many people have become the victim of this, but recently a lot of weird e-mails have been reaching dinkers from unknown senders. I have been victim twice, ex dinker Andy M. has gotten it twice, and RedInk received one. These e-mails look like either, someone you know from the Dink Network has sent you a piece of e-mail or, a returned e-mail (Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender). Now, in order to get a returned e-mail you must first send it, well, no one sends these e-mails, they are fake, and most of the times, the so called e-mail address 'you sent it to' (which you didn't) is fake. The other times, it looks like someone you know has sent you a e-mail. RedInk recently got one from a OLD e-mail which Gary does not use anymore, where these scammers are getting these e-mails are beyond me. The e-mail also has a file attached to them, this file is a virus (it appears to be a rather nasty worm), DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT! Please hatwcinfrcr@hotmail.com" target="_blank">let me know if you get one of these e-mails by forwarding it to me. I have traced the IP to London England, and I have been trying to get a hold of the ISP. I need these e-mails for proof once I get a hold of the ISP so we can see if the virus is sending these out it self or someone is sending them out of their own free will.

Thank you.

(P.S. A warm welcome to Tal, now will all the old DW members move over here? :] )
