Yeah, it's not that unreasonable. 
I'd say that it can work, too, if it stays interesting and relevant. Too many books just sort of wander away, focusing on subplots or extending events to unreasonable lengths, until you forget even what the overall plot was about.
But 2000 pages in a year?!
That's insane. Even if you wrote the book every day, it's still more than 5 pages a day.
