if you have you computer running for a extended period of time it could be that your ram is full of crap. try rebooting. Let me show you why WDE runs slow.

WDE's primary function is to store all the graphics in the video memory (since it's hella fast), if you video ram is full, it will try to optimize it a bit, if that fails, it will go to regular system memory (slow as hell). In a worst case, if you system memory is also full, Vram will be used (basically HD space), and windows will store it whatever way it wants.

The speed of the video cards matters, but not too much. It's how much ram you have on it. (same with all games). truth be told, if you have a 1.3 GHZ processor, if your videocard is faster than 100MHZ, you probably wont notice much of a diffrence between it and a 100MHZ card, it's all about memory.
