Speaking of massive D-Mods based on games (and particularly, FF)...there was a group of people way back in the day working on an FF7 D-Mod. Unfortunately, Square (the developers behind the FF series) forced them to shut down.
So yeah, I wouldn't recommend doing such a thing.
