I'll admit, that kind of Terran vs Zerg strategy seems unlikely to be successful, but I've used it on occasion mainly as a distraction. With SCV's constantly repairing each other and the bunkers, the zerg's progress does slow down somewhat enough for a couple of battleships to fly in assuming the battle lasts that long. Tanks make a useful back-up as well, but the battleships hinder any air-units the zerglings have as backup while blasting zerglings down themselves. Especially with a yamato cannon to blow away that other morph for the Muta's should they have a few.
(Gawd I'm getting so forgetful with the unit names for the Zerg)
