Well actually, I didn't find anything wrong with the criticism. He found the piece lacking in action (and even pointed out how to fix this: "start with some action or romance."). Sounds constructive enough. It was a piece of advice, anyway.
What I don't see is why he should write something better if he "doesn't want to be constructive". It has nothing to do with criticizing? I like my right to criticize things I'm not able to make myself.. like, poetry, or commercial computer software. Or stuff.
