If you believe that Jesus came to the world, died, and rose again (I just proved that he's not 'some dead guy') and you accept you're a sinner, you ask God for forgiveness, and you actually believe what's in the Bible, (you don't just say "I'm a Christian!" but not do anything) then you will go to heaven.

You don't have to be. Say you accidentally hurt a kid at school, if it was an accident, saying sorry and meaning it is enough, it's over and done with. But if you purposely hurt the kid, you should say sorry and ask him/her to forgive you.
