Hi - please help me! i am completely stuck in the first portion of the game, where you enter below the rock and are in the maze.
I can't seem to damage the bouncing monsters at all, only avoid them, but there is one screen in the center(?) of the maze with a defense potion and a big heart, that screen locks and won't let me exit. Am I supposed to be able to kill them to get the screen unlocked, or is there a weapon or secret exit I need to find or is this possibly a bug? I try to avoid the room altogether and just keep wandering into it.
Please help me! I'd so love to get further along, but I don't see any way I can at this point.
I've checked the walkthrough and all it says is what i pasted below, it doesn't address being stuck or killing/not killing or secret exit route ...
Into the hole, explore this area, note the different colored crystals, find the magic herb boots along the west wall to the north, exit out of the steps by the yellow crystal
