True. Although, in all reality, taking pi to more than 5 significant figures is tedious at best, and pointless at worst. At least for most day-to-day usages. SO one could say that 3.1416 is more than enough to get you through the day, and it's shorter than 355/113. 
One thing I'd like to know in my lifetime is the exact curvature of the universe in local space. Make a circle, measure it, and find the value of pi that you get from it. Then find how much this differs from euclidean pi. You need a huge circle...
