Well ladies and gentleman have I discovered quite a treat for all of you. Being both fans of Nintendo and older games I'm certain all of you have loved or at least heard of the legendary Zelda series.

Well most of you (including me) are probably unaware that long ago in 1989 Nintendo opted to partner with an electronics company called Philips to develop the use of CD's for playing games. Their contract was later dropped and Nintendo instead decided to better use cartridges which eventually lead to the Super Nintendo. However before the contract was canceled Nintendo licensed Philips the right to create three Zelda games. Although a Nintendo CD system made by Philips never materialized the three Zelda games were made by Philips for their independent game platform the CD-i console.

Since the games had the characters, but were developed independently from Nintendo by Philips the games were very different from normal. Overral they were considered very badly made and due to low sales of both the CD-i console and the games themselves most people don't know of them. This is good due to the bad gameplay and the fact that the story isn't considered Zelda canon (relating to the same setting) due to Nintendo's non-involvement. The fans even refer to these games together as the "Unholy Triforce". However their is something that remained. The uniqueness of the CD-i is that it could show animation in game, an early form of FMV's (full motion video) and they put this to use in the three Zelda games they made.

I warn you...as someone of decent entertainment tastes and a Zelda fan these could give you nightmares, nausea, severe anxiety, and possibly a heart attack. I give you the intro's, clips, and endings for the three games;

Zelda's Adventure intro. Live action and not animated like the previous two.

Zelda's Adventure ending.

For some general information on the games and how/why they were made I have the wiki page;

I will say one thing...the Princess looks alot more good looking in the animated clips here in the Unholy Triforce than in any of the much newer, much better games.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

*EDIT*
