: :Johnny the Homicidal Maniac by Jhonen Vasquez.

: Actually, it's a comic book, but it's soooo good

:

: Uhm.  I should post my own, so here goes.

: I enjoy the studio arts.  Picasso is incredible.  He's my favorite visual artist.  After him is Kurt Cobain, who is also an incredible painter.

: Music.  It is the water I swim in.  If this isn't love I'll shoot myself.  My tastes in music, in no particular order:  jazz which has some of the best musicians ever; rock, which has some of the deepest music, and most enjoyable; and classical such as Beethoveen, which has a great mix of both.

: Literature.  What can I say?  This may be the deepest one out of my list.  From Invisible Man(not THE invisible Man), The Great Gatsby, Shakespeare, Poe...what can I say?  I'm not worthy to describe them.

: The artists that I most admire, and their effects one me.  Hm..

: Kurt Cobain - Nobody's perfect, and he knew this.  Making him perfect, and overrated.  He had no idols, only icons.  Empathy.  Love.  Despair.  I can relate to him more than any person that I've met.  He introduced me to punk, and got me to play the guitar.

: John Lennon - Too much to say on this guy.  Way too much.

: Picasso - Well, if I do go to college, it'll be for art.  Thanks to him.

: And probably Edgar Allan Poe is the most influential author to me.  He could condense all the meanings of a book into a 5 page short story.  That's genius.

: There are more of course, but that's all for now.

: And why hasn't anybody said movies?  That's an art too you know.

Yes. Great choices in Lennon and Poe. Lennon of course was much more than a music artist, as his art has influenced my own. But as far as music goes...stuff like Mind Games, Jeolous Guy, and Across the Universe...good stuff. He was also hated by many baby boomers for his anti-war mantra, but it took balls and he stuck to his guns. Revelution, of course, portrayed his thoughts perfectly on some of the violence being carried out by other anti-war hipocrits. Poe? You described him perfectly Rey.

Picasso besides being a dang good artist was also a really interesting man. Can't agree with your choice of Cobain, though I liked his music.

For writers, as lame as it sounds, I have always loved Homer, Joyce, Whitman and, ehem, Mario Puzo.

Movies...Jacobs Ladder, Clockwork Orange, The Meaning of Life, The Godfather (not 3), Citizen Cain, Schindler's List and Better off Dead.

Music...Velvet Underground, Mothers of Invention, Beatles, and The Clash have inspired me, and I think a little bit of all of them can be heard in the music I listen to today.
