Played about 6-10 romp dmods today. Most were rated "horrible." I was looking for anti-patterns in dmod design and I found several. I also played some incredibly clever games that bend the Dink engine into a pretzel.

The warcraft mod was a pretty
strong argument for IP theft.

Maybe a fun project would be to recreate several Atari 2600 games in Dink. Yar's Revenge, Pac-man and Space Invaders come to mind. It's no challenge to port Adventure.

I'm getting the hang of scripting simple "touch" opponents. I've got pillbugs, slime and boncas working in Sweetpea. I've spread a few goodie potions around too.

Now, I need to work in the quests. The first one is easy. I'm thinking about throwing in a curve ball that could cause the player to lose hard right at the start of the game. I would find that funny, but I'm sure others would be less inclined to agree.

Played around with the title screen in GIMP today. Added a goof picture of a pig. Learned all about channel masks. Ugh. Moved the buttons around on the splashpage to accomodate the graphic.

dmod packaging is embaressingly easy with Dink 1.08.

I do need to think about alpha and beta testers soon.
