My favourite music genre is definitely metal, heavy and power. The so called 'death' metal seems to me just rubbish, screaming and hiting guitars... However, I also like most music, except POP (I like some old POP, like the Beatles though), Hiphop, RAP (the discusting ear RAPe), techno and trance. My fav genres is metal, punk and classical.
Favourite metal group at the moment have to be Stratovarius. And the punk group is Asian Kung-Fu Generation, closely followed by Toshiro Masuda, with it's punk/Japanese-tradisional mixup.
Gaming music is great too. Especially Jeremy Soule, the music for all my favourite RPGs (except Dink) is made by him, including Guild Wars, Morrowind (Soon also Oblivion), Boulder's Gate: Dark Alliance, Never Winter Nights...
Norwegian folk music is ok, but the British folk music is great! Nothing beats a fast playing violin with a smooth flute in the background, perhaps with drums playing fast, but light.. Japanese folk music is ear candy, I just can't get enough of it, just like tea...
Some rock is nice too. I like R.E.M, Great Big Sea and some other bands. Not much more to say on this front.
Some movie music is good.. It depends on what movie it is. Lately I've fallen in love with music from Passion of the Christ, and Lord of the Rings music has always had room in my heart. The Matrix music is the only techno (if it is techno) music that has been worth listening too, but that might be because it's the Matrix...

Conclusion: Everything is good, but POP, Hiphop, RAP, techno and trance is not.
