Man, I'd forgotten how useful mod wands were.

Scarab was technically the first d-mod Sabre finished, as it had full map, a complete storyline and could be played from beginning to boss. It wasn't very good, but it was pretty novel. We based cc2 on Scarab in the mistaken belief it would result in a quick and enjoyable mod, not too much larger than Cloud Castle, that would pave the way to the trilogy. I hadn't heard of the term "feature creep" back then...

As I recall, the very first d-mod that he made was a two-screen affair that essentially featured Dink washing on a riverbank after a drunken night out. The only thing you could do was to read a poster announcing a festival to celebrate the king's daughter's coming of age, who was, IIRC, described as "18 and totally up for it". Actually, it was probably 16 or even younger. Hey, how about you base the plot for CC3 on that one Sabre?

Scarab vanished several hard drive crashes and a couple of computers ago, I'm afraid. We do still have Nerux kicking about... not too likely that one will ever be finished, and I'm not sure how worthy it is of releasing. It was pretty much abandoned when we realised it didn't have any gameplay.
