If you want to make an explosive bottle, and have a fair bit of patience, do this:
Get a glass juice bottle, once with a pop bubble lid.
Drink it.
Fill it with boiling water, and quickly put the lid on. The less air in the bottle, the better. But a little bit (the amount under the cap) won't hurt.
Put it in the fridge overnight.
Put it in a snowbank outside.
Let it get about -35 or better below.
Tada: Instant proximity mine, and the colder it gets, the more unstable it is.
P.S. I don't recomend actually setting this thing off, as the few times I have done this, the needle shaped and sized glass shards have a range up to 5m depending on the amount of air in the bottle. The mode distance is about 2m, with very little variance.
The stronger/thicker the glass and the more water you can supercool the bigger the explosion.
