Though Sabre tried clarifying, I wasn't sure if it was clear enough, so:
The guy's hands/gun are taking up half the screen since he just fired, and the screenshot was cleverly taken *just* as the gun points upward briefly, the gun pointing upwards briefly because you've fired too much in a certain amount of time, causing it to overheat; when a Covenant (alien) gun in Halo overheats, it takes a couple of seconds to cool down and return to normal usage.
I probably should've broken that down into more than one collective sentence. Oh well.
