I suppose Blizzard sees it as "there's no shortage of people who are enthusiastic about designing games, so perhaps they can find a winner by putting up an ad". While an ad works for indie game devs, I'm not sure if it will work for Diablo 3...maybe it will give it more of an original shine so it can stand out from the games that copy its style.
