: : Gee, Dink uses meshes?

: : I would say get something besides anim8tor if you can.  I don't know, it might work fine with other programs, but it was totally unusable to me when I tried it for the sims.

: Same goes for me. Any idea on what programme is real good for making neat animations?

I've been using Anim8or to make a lot of good quality models with animations for my d-mod. Its a really good program with a high quality renderer. It doesn't have all the features Blender has, but the support is much better and many people have written apps (its source is in plain text) to greatly enhance its capablities. Check out the forum at anim8or.com ro see some of the awesome work that people are doing with anim8or.

As for theprofet's question about what to make, I'd suggest just starting out with some simple characters, get used to modeling your meshes so they'll animate in a realistic fashion, read as many tutorials as you can on character modeling and animation and the different approaches to it. Once you get the basics down, just use your imagine to create some interesting creatures. Anthropomorphic animals are always fun.
