Reply to spacebar problem

I have encountered a really strange bug with Dink...
When I was testing my DMOD I found out that when I pressed spacebar nothing happened. so I thought that it might have to do with my particular DMOD, but every DMOD and the original Dink seem to have the same problem...
After that I decided to mess up with the button assignment and it became even more strange. I assigned button 6 (key M) to talk/look and button 2 to map. And when I press spacebar now it works as normal(talk function), and M also works as normal(map function)...
But now the problem is that always when I play a DMOD I have to re-assign those two buttons.
Has anybody got anything to say about this?
(please don't tell me to re-install Dink, I'm terribly lazy nowadays...
