Goth Rock and Darkwave sort of blend together. Goth rock is more guitar and drums and darkwave is more electronic, sometimes and sort of. That doesn't help, but try listening to Sisters of Mercy and then Switchblade Symphony. Little difference there.

Goth Rock: Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division [some, other is the late punk era], The Cure [some].
Darkwave: Switchblade Symphony, Inkubus Sukkubus, Deine Lakaien, Faithless, The Cruxshadows.
