Armour!?!?! Just in the past century or so we have stopped wearing armor in war and battles (unless you count bullet proof vest then we still do)and + American soccer they wear "armour" too, I dont know about across the pond but every soccer player I have seen wears those weird shin guards and maybe a cup....I am not a witness to that one...but anyway. People used to wear hardly anything while playin football, (hence the old picture of the guy with no face mask and what looks like a girls sholder pad ) And people died in the game from lack of protection. But anyway evryone is entitled to an opinion, even if its wrong, and weird, it is stills yours, and thats all that matters...right?
Nobody wears a cup when playing football. And when you are diving about with metal attached to your feet, then small guards for your shins is just common sense.
Wheras in American Football, you wear a helmet, shoulder pads, all this, all that, and for a sport (as scratcher says) that stops every 10 seconds. Boring.
Also, people can die in any sport... it's just a matter of very bad luck.
I don't recall any American Footballers that have played a match with a broken neck though... pansies.
